The Restaurant
Dining is available inside both downstairs and upstairs, along with outside on the square. Enjoy the vibes of Glenelg as you soak up the sun in the outdoor area, or take in the romantic atmosphere as you sip cocktails on the sunkissed balcony. Kids in tow? They have some great activities to keep them busy at the table too!
The decor is modern, bright and colourful with cute house-shaped booths, adding a creative style to its exciting atmosphere. DoughBalls is in the business for making memories, and this is certainly the place to do it!
The DoughBalls
For anyone who knows the well known Pizza Express brand in the UK, this is Adelaide’s equivalent. But better! Their DoughBalls are their signature dish, being bitesize balls of fluffy, twice proved delicious dough with a range of toppings available. The original dish with garlic butter is not hard to taste why these are a family favourite. They were so good!
How does Baked Garlic Mozzarella DoughBalls tickle your tastebuds? There is also a Bruschetta version, Spicy Nacho and Panzanella dish with its Meditteranean twist. Or the Grande dish served with garlic butter, pesto and hummus. Enough said?
Resisting the urge to splash out, the original dish was a cheeky hint of what to expect from the rest of the menu! It was served quickly from a friendly team member. With the warm DoughBalls just waiting to ooze into the tasty melting garlic butter dish. Having wanting to try them for a while, they definitely didn’t disappoint. The drinks took a little longer to be served but were the perfect way to end a quick bite to eat.
The Menu
The menu is impressive with pizzas, salads and pasta inviting you to order. Pizzas come in 12 to 15-inch sizes, on thin and crispy bases adding to that Italian authenticity. Perfect for sharing or if you are worried about how long that after dinner walk may need to be along the beach to work off those calories, there is also a Pizza Lite menu with six different toppings available. Pizza Lites are served on a pizza ring doughnut base, meaning fewer carbs!

Or it could just be an excellent excuse to leave space for those tempting dessert balls which will be hard to resist! With Choc-Cinnamon and French Toast available, we’ll be thinking that walk may be longer than expected!
And if this isn’t enough to tempt you, they run a Bottomless Brunch once a month! Two hours of a serving of DoughBalls or Pizza with endless cocktails anyone? Their cocktail list suits their creativeness well, with seasonal specials available. Follow them on social media at @doughballsAU to find out the next event.
Worth the visit?
Since this visit to the Glenelg restaurant, we have been back to pick up a takeaway Carbonara Pizzata as they did look absolutely to die for! Wondering what a Pizzata is? It’s DoughBalls take on a Pizza Party experience, and one of these is enough to share, especially with a starter or side, or ideal if you are super hungry. As it is reasonably priced, it could be easy to get carried away! It really did taste as good as it looks; try and stop a repeat order soon!
With something for everyone, don’t miss this unique experience in its stunning location.
