Head to Portugal on a workcation to the best Porto CoWorking spaces in and around this colourful captivating city. Its chilled European pace is perfect for working a couple of days, with the evenings and weekend exploring this absolutely stunning World Heritage Site. With the River Douro running through its heart, it is hard not to fall in love with Porto.
As with most European cultures, things get going a little later than in the UK. Usually, you can start working from 10 am, with most people generally going until 6 pm. There are lots of inviting coworking spaces in Porto; however, not all have day passes available, and they are only accessible to long-term members. That’s why I’ve workout out the best ones around the city where you can just sign up for the day, saving you time when planning your Porto workcation!
My favourite CoWorking spaces worldwide, not just Porto, are always the ones closest to the water. This makes it ideal for taking a lunch break on the beach, riverbank, or surrounded by tranquil lake water, soaking in some Water Wellness vibes and getting some Blue Mind. However, this doesn’t stop me from exploring and enjoying CoWorking spaces within the city, especially those that are easy to get to by public transport.
Here are the best Porto CoWorking Spaces in and around the city:
Porto i/o CoWorking Space – Seaside
As far as Water Wellness goes, Porto i/o Seaside has it nailed. As part of the three CoWorking spaces they have in and around Porto, this CoWorking space has such a chilled out beach vibe that Mastinoshos is the perfect location. Just an 8 minute walk to the beach, its surfboard and bike storage area is well used and perfect for some sand between your toes whilst taking a break. And it’s good soft sand too! There’s a shower within the space, so you can wash that goldenness off before you start working again.
It’s an iconic 18th-century building, which adds to its charm, where everyone was super friendly and helpful. It’s one main room on the first floor, with about 30 desks, mostly in pods of 6. It is 100% powered by energy produced by renewable sources.

It tends to get dark quickly, with the sun disappearing behind the building. However, it’s made up for with bright colours, mainly mustard yellow and sea green turquoise – Porto i/o’s branded colours.
The chill out zone downstairs is quirky, with a small kitchen attached. The large wooden table invites you to escape your desk for lunch and catch up with the world.
As for the internet speed, this was off the scale and by far the fastest I’ve used for a while, especially in Porto’s CoWorking spaces. Connecting was easy, and stable – it actually gave my laptop a run for its money whilst trying to keep up!

The local CoWorking area
Getting here is easy. Take the light rail or regular bus 500 route from Sao Bento in the centre of Porto. If you fancy something different, take the City Tour Tram Line 1, from the Porto riverfront. Walk past Foz and onto Matosinhos. It’ll take about an hour but worth it for the scenery along the coastline, getting some Blue Mind before starting your day.
Within walking distance of the CoWorking space are a few rows of shops to explore, cafes, bakeries and bars, and well-known supermarkets and fast food chains. Along the waterfront, you’re spoilt for choice of places to grab some food or a drink before, during and after your time here. And that’s not forgetting the ideal place for a surf and even a surf lesson if you want to hit the water.

Porto i/o Seaside CoWorking space day passes from 10 am to 6 pm cost €24.60 (2023 price – €20 plus 23% tax) each. They can be easily booked by requesting through their contact form on their website.
Selina Navis CoWorking Porto
Known worldwide for their beautiful places to stay, travel and work abroad, Selina Navis CoWork in the heart of Porto is their first dedicated CoWorking space. Situated just around the block from the Selina Porto Hotel and Hostel, this CoWorking space is the best value for money in Porto in terms of cost, location and length of their day pass. Open until 10 pm if you are a night owl, this is the perfect CoWorking space for you.
Arrive through their neon lit colourful entrance to be met with the incredible character from the stunning decor. A whole floor is dedicated to shared desks for daily hot desking. Phone booths, a meeting room, a comfy lounge area, a shared kitchen, and free coffee and fruit are available throughout the day. The space is well lit, with a true work hard, play hard feel. The tall plants scattered around the floor give privacy, as well as a natural surroundings feel to your day.

The internet within Selia CoWorking Porto was easy to connect to, stable and sufficient for most needs. Its average speed for a CoWorking space was reliable, working well throughout the day. And without giving it away, their Wifi password sums up their vibe brilliantly by just getting s**t done!

The local CoWorking area
Within walking distance, there are many cafes, bars, bakeries and shops to explore before, during and after your time here. Close to metro stations and many bus routes, it’s really easy to get to by public transport. To the River Douro, it’s less than 10 minute walk. Or head to Câmara Municipal Do Porto on Avenida dos Aliados Porto. This urban water feature by this historic building is a gorgeous place to sit, with views to soak in whilst watching the world go by.
If you were to stay at Selia Navis Porto for a little longer, you could get involved with their well thought range of community activities. I love the wellness programme with yoga, meditation and Pilates classes, along with creative workshops, poetry nights, and DJ set evenings (starting at 11 pm!). Selina really is all about staying, working and exploring from morning until night.
Porto Selina Navis CoWorking day passes from 9 am until 10 pm are just €12 (2023 price). Excellent value for money and highly recommended. Get in touch by email to book your CoWorking space.
Porto i/o CoWorking Space – Riverside
Unfortunately, I could not get into Porto i/o CoWorking Riverside with a day pass. This was because long-term dedicated desks meant the space was fully booked, so it may be worth checking on your visit to see if hot desks have since become available.
As far as location goes, this really is the best in the city of Porto. Situated right next to the River Douro, the panoramic views from this 16th-century 4th floor building with its endless balcony are magnificent. The chill out space is probably one I would never want to leave! Perfect for a river walk during your lunch break, this would be an ideal way to boost an afternoon’s productivity for the afternoon.
It’s within walking distance of many public transport options, and you are right in the heart of many bars, cafes, bakeries and shops to discover.

Porto i/o CoWorking Space – Downtown
Downtown is Porto i/o’s first CoWorking space from the three they operate. I personally didn’t have time to visit this space. However, locationally, it’s ideal, right in the heart of the historic part of the city. It’s a short walk from the riverfront, with plenty of facilities, amenities and public transport options nearby.
As their first CoWorking space, Porto i/o are proud to call this 19th-century building their home with services offered to keep you working at your best all day.
Day passes are available and can be easily booked by requesting through the contact form on their website.
Regus CoWorking Spaces – Porto
No CoWorking list in a major city is complete without mentioning available Regus office spaces. I didn’t visit these spaces as they sometimes appear to lack any character – something Porto is not well known for. If you have a membership with Regus, it would be worth taking advantage of their Batalha location within walking distance of the riverfront. Their Bom Sucesso and the Brasilia Buildings are more north-west of the city but still quite central for exploring and easy to get to. All three offices provide daily CoWorking space passes within their membership.
